Spay and Neuter

All Pets Deserve Vets realizes that spay and neuter IS the one and only key to stopping the street dog overpopulation problem in Cancun. This method has proven effective in reducing the street dog populations because dogs are very territorial and will not allow other animals to move into their territory.

Dividing Cancun into a grid we will focus our resources on one section at a time, working until all that communities dogs have been assessed and sterilised. We will trap, vaccinate, spay/neuter, then release these dogs.

Spaying/neutering DOES increase the lifespan of the animal and lowers their chances of contracting diseases and cancers like TVT (transmissible venereal tumors). The program will also help keep communities pup free for longer periods of time. This combined with our outreach program, families will have access to affordable care.
